About Us

The Lymphoma Support and Research Association Inc is a not for profit organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. 

  • The group became incorporated in February 2004 
  • Currently the main group is located on the Gold Coast Queensland with action groups being established now across Australia
  • Our logo of the feather is to remind everyone that they do have guardian angels that will search for cures and support/ guide them through times of need


Mission Statement

“To support those touched by lymphoma, raise awareness of the disease and help fund research for a cure”


Objectives

  • Promote awareness of Lymphoma
  • Eliminate the confusion between Hodgkins and Non Hodgkins (B cell and T cell) Lymphoma
  • Support people who have been diagnosed with lymphoma and their families by establishing and assisting in the development of support groups Australia wide
  • Fund research that will result in :-
    • A greater understanding of the causes of Lymphoma 
    • New Lymphoma treatments to boost cure rates
    • Screening tests to allow the earlier detection of disease
  • Fund clinical trials giving Australian patients access to already developed therapies and therapy combinations currently not available to them
  • Develop camaraderie within the Lymphoma community of past and present sufferers
  • Proactively approach corporations/ government to sponsor/ fund research programs

  • Lymphoma causes 10% of childhood cancers
  • Over 1,500 people die each year from Lymphoma
  • The rate of Lymphoma has doubled over the last 30 years
