How Common is Lymphoma?

Lymphoma is:

  1. The most common blood cancer being more common than both Leukaemia and Multiple Myeloma
  2. The most common cause of blood cancer death
  3. 5th most common cause of cancer in Australia
  4. Causes 11% of childhood cancers
  5. Lymphoma is ranked 4th in terms of cost to the community with years of active life lost
  6. Rates of most lymphomas have been increasing 4% per year. Over the last 20 years the number of cases in Australia has doubled
  7. Lymphoma is one of the fastest growing cancers in the western world. Unlike lung cancer and melanoma the cause is not known.
