CLL Education Day
Associate Professor Matthew Davids a leading global authority in CLL from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute will be joining us for a live virtual event on the 18th of August.
Dr Matthew Davids is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Director of Clinical Research in the Division of Lymphoma, and Associate Director of the CLL Center at DanaFarber Cancer Institute. He is a leading investigator in the clinical development of the Bcl-2 inhibitor venetoclax. He runs a research laboratory focused on CLL and leads numerous clinical trials of novel agent combination regimens for patients with CLL.
Associate Professor Davids will join a panel of patient and clinical experts including:
- Dr Jason Butler, vice-chair Lymphoma Australia, a clinical haematologist with Icon Cancer Centre, and a Senior Staff Haematologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
- Dr Brian Koffman, the founder of the CLL society in America and well-known doctor, educator and clinical professor turned patient has dedicated himself to teaching and helping the CLL community since his diagnosis in 2005.
- Deborah Sims is a CLL patient, young mother of 3 and a tireless patient advocate after being diagnosed with CLL in 2011. Deborah has fought to have access to life-saving treatments and continues to fight for others to ensure there is equitable access for all patients
