The Lymphoma Australia Foundation respects your right to privacy and this policy sets out how we collect and treat your personal information. “Personal information” is information we hold that can identify you.

What personal information do we collect?

We only collect personal information that is necessary for our work. Information we collect includes your name and address, payment information about your donation/s, and communications you may have had with us. Below are some of the types of personal information from you:

How we collect your personal information

We collect personal information from you in a variety of ways, including when you use our website, phone us, write to us, email us or visit us in person.

We use your information to provide our service to you. We also use it to improve our service and to notify you of opportunities that we think you might be interested in, including, but not limited to:

  • Process donations and pledges
  • Issue receipts
  • Respond to comments or questions
  • Provide follow-up information regarding Lymphoma Australia
  • Provide selected information about the cancer we support
  • Seek your ongoing support
  • To help with your fundraising efforts; 
  • For internal reporting purposes

We do not provide your information to third parties. We never rent, sell, lend or give away your information. 

In some instances, personal information is supplied to, or collected by contractors who perform tasks on our behalf. This company is Everyday hero who takes our donations on our behalf and also does for a number of charities with privacy policies in place.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information. However we are not liable for any unauthorised access to this information.

We take complaints very seriously and will respond shortly after receiving written notice of your complaint.

Please be aware that we may change this Privacy Policy in the future. The revised versions will be uploaded onto our website, so please check back from time to time.

Using our website

When you visit our website, we may collect certain information such as browser type, operating system, website visited immediately before coming to our site, etc. This information is used to analyse how people use our site so we can improve our service.

Online Donations

Lymphoma Australia wants to ensure that all of our supporters can donate and sponsor online with complete confidence. We have taken every possible measure to give absolute security to you in your dealings with us.

Lymphoma Australia has contracted Everyday Hero to securely handle registration, donation and credit card transactions. Please visit their website at www.everydayhero.com.au for their privacy agreements

The only time Everyday Hero would store your credit card information is to support your request to give a monthly credit card donation. When making a donation via our upload form on our website or paper form in person and supplying your credit or debit details, this information is immediately destroyed and never kept by Lymphoma Australia premises. For use of monthly giving by which Everyday Hero is responsible for these details and you are protected by their privacy.

Third Party Sites

Our site has links to other websites not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for these sites or the consequences of you going on to those sites.

Internet Donations

This website is enabled for online donations using a secure donation server certified as a secure by Everyday hero. However, despite the security on the site, you should be aware that there are inherent risks in transferring information across the Internet.

When an Internet donation is made, your credit card number is used only to make a debit through Westpac Bank.

We record on our fundraising database the Internet donor’s name, address, email, telephone, amount donated, and if the funds are for a specified gift. Our fundraising database is protected by secure user IDs and passwords, to help protect it from misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

When making a donation on the Internet, you are given the option (in wording of equal size to all other information requested) to untick a box to opt out of receiving future mailing. If this is not changed you may receive fund-raising material from Lymphoma Australia and your email address will be added to our email database. You may remove your name from this database at anytime, please contact us by email at enquiries@lymphoma.org.au

Email Service

You can subscribe to regular email updates about the work of Lymphoma Australia.

How often will I receive emails?

We will only send you an email when there is an important message we would like you to know about. The average frequency is 2 to 4 emails a year.

Unsubscribing from the Email Database

You can unsubscribe from our email list at any time.
