About Lymphoma

Lymphoma is the most common cancer for people aged 15-29 years. But it can affect anyone at any age. Across all ages, lymphoma is the sixth most common cancer in Australia.

What is lymphoma?

Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers with more than 80 different subtypes including Hodgkin (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL). These cancers usually start in your lymphatic system, so understanding the lymphatic system and cancer in general makes it easier to understand.

In HL and NHL, a tumour develops due to uncontrolled growth of abnormal white blood cells called lymphocytes.
